Rebecca, along with her two brothers, walked to school in a neighboring town. The children also helped with chores in the small bed and breakfast establishment her mother ran in the same house where the family lived. It must have been Rebecca's mother whose genes contributed to her talent as a writer. Over the decades her very gifted mother created many beautiful and meaningful poems.
As a young teen Rebecca discovered the German writer Tina Caspari, whose children's books were a strong influence on Rebecca in her early years. Later Rebecca found fascination in the dark tales of Edgar Allan Poe and Agatha Christie, composing several short stories herself.
After high school Rebecca earned a degree as a beautician, but found her true calling by working with horses. First she studied equine science in college and experienced hands-on training of racehorses through a program overseen by the German government. Later, Rebecca became a trainer of dressage horses, or English style riding, and has composed articles for magazines in her profession.
In 1995, when she was in her twenties, Rebecca moved to the United States. She lived first in the Mid-West and later in Northern California. She continued her professional career as a horse trainer and proved herself on the competitive dressage circuit.
Rebecca loves the outdoors and has much appreciation for the beauty and mèlange of this country and its people. With her husband Troy, a professional rodeo entertainer, Rebecca has traveled a great deal and visited many states. Her experiences traveling compelled Rebecca to become more serious about being a novelist. The country's vast diversity gives her much of her inspiration for writing.
Rebecca now resides close to the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, where she and her husband own a mountain bike store. In the summer of 2006 Rebecca and Troy purchased some acreage, which eventually will become a horse farm.
For now there are still many fence poles to set, but the farm name has been chosen; it will be named "Wiedenhof Farms" after Rebecca's home town. Besides working on the farm project, Rebecca balances her life between her writing, her horses, and travels with her husband all over the United States.
